All About NABC
GAMES and TOURNAMENTS
The winter season runs mid-November thru mid-March. During the winter season NABC teams play a combination of regional town-travel tournaments (throughout MA, RI, & CT) and League Games. Team schedules are largely built at the coaches discretion, but the goal is for all teams to play 40+ games over the course of the winter season. NABC is a town travel program that plays other town travel teams, we are not an AAU program.
TEAMS and TRYOUTS
All players must reside in North Attleboro. Our teams are assembled according to tryouts, player evaluations, and player experience. If your child accepts a position on an NABC team, the expectation is that NABC Basketball is your child’s number one basketball priority for the season. Players are not allowed to play on multiple town travel teams at the same time.
PRACTICES and EXPECTATIONS
NABC teams are built with the expectation that they can compete (or work towards competing) at the highest levels of town travel basketball. The only way to accomplish that is through continued high quality practice sessions. All NABC teams practice 2-3 times per week, each practice is two hours long, throughout the season. Additional group workouts with outside trainers are also held throughout the season. All players are expected to make the commitment to attend as many practices and workouts as they reasonably can.
PLAYING TIME REQUIREMENTS
NABC does not have minimum playing time requirements. The goal of all NABC teams is to field the most competitive teams possible at every grade level. This does NOT mean that our philosophy is to win at all costs... our primary objective is to develop youth basketball players with the WILL TO WIN, and the COURAGE to accept defeat.
FEES and COSTS
All tournament. league game, and practice schedules will be built at the coach's discretion, therefore team fees may be different from team to team. The cost per player for the season will be determined prior to each season and is estimated to be between $400 - $700 per player, per winter season. In an effort to provide more to each player and keep costs down, we will be offering sponsorship opportunities for local business and families. Our sponsorship opportunities can be found HERE. NABC is formed as a non-profit youth sports organization with the State of Massachusetts with all proceeds going directly to the kids.
